Avinodos was the very first eCommerce website we ever built. While it was a small store, it was a great experience for us to learn the ins and out of shipping, taxes, product variations, etc.
While the eCommerce side was new to us, knowing how to build a beautiful, secure, and user-friendly website was not.
We really appreciated the opportunity to build this website and thank the Avinodos team for trusting us to bring their ideas to life.
Nestled among a collection of some truly ‘Rock Star’ vintners in a conclave of Napa’s urban wineries, Avinodos is the next generation of producers to carry the torch for the iconic status of premium Napa Valley wines.
Avinodos is owned by Dan and Julie Dexter. Growing up amongst the farm fields in Illinois that Dan’s family has owned since being homestead in 1836, his agriculture roots grow long and deep.
Their wine production is small but don’t miss this chance to get in on the ground floor with what’s sure to become Napa’s next superstar producer.
Building an eCommerce website can be intimidating, as there are typically a lot of moving parts, security concerns, and lots of testing that needs to happen.
We built out the wine store using the ever popular WooCommerce plugin as the eCommerce framework. Using the WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing plugin, we were able to handle some advanced pricing options, such as setting a special price for bulk purchases.
The biggest challenge was getting the shipping cost dialed in and automated so the owners of Avinodos could focus on more important things. We met that challenge head on, using the WooCommerce Table Rate Shipping plugin, extending WooCommerce’s default shipping options to give us highly customizable shipping options.
We implemented Imagify, a leading image optimization plugin, and configured it according to best practices. Additionally, we bulk-optimized every image associated with the website and generated WEBP versions of every image.
The Avinodos website is hosted with SiteGround, so we implemented its proprietary SG Optimizer plugin according to best practices.
We also implemented the Age Verifier for WordPress plugin with Avinodos being a public-facing website that sells alcohol-related goods and services.
