The cost of maintaining a website is well worth the alternative

Every business wants to reduce it’s overall technology spend. We do too. However, a company website and it’s associated technology is something that should be a priority.

Your website is often the first thing that potential customers will see and interact with, so it’s critical to make a good first impression. Having the right website maintenance plan in place is essential when you want to show people what you’re made of.

Website maintenance plans allow us to keep up with your website’s security, speed, design, and more.

We believe so strongly in website maintenance that we’ve priced our plans to help those even with the smallest of budgets. Our clients have the flexibility to change their maintenance plan as things change on their end.

  • Apply security-related updates as a high-priority.
  • Monitor for and/or source non-security updates.
  • Test non-security updates within their staging environment or in some cases, our own environment.
  • Apply non-security updates according to best practice.

When performing maintenance or just running a website in general, things can happen that require support. All of our maintenance plans include a certain amount of support so that we can fix (or attempt to fix) issues without bothering the client.

Although it doesn’t happen often, there are times when the included support is not enough. For those times, we will reach out to the client and work with them to find the best course of action.

All monthly maintenance plans include up to 15 minutes of support included each month /w no rollover.

Support examples…

  • Website inaccessibility.
  • Website backup failures.
  • Theme/plugin conflicts.
  • Theme/plugin errors.

As a vendor liaison, we work directly with vendors so you don’t have to. We pull from your plan’s included support.

Unless websites are protected from threats, all the time and effort put into those websites may be for nothing.

Let’s say we have a car that we’ve applied a paint job (theme) to, put a great exhaust system (plugin) into and we have an awesome engine (WordPress). Now, let’s say we leave doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition?  We don’t want to do that. We want to protect our investment and we do so, by keeping on top of the latest security information and implementing security measures according to best practices.

The above said, there is always a chance that your WordPress site could still get infected with malware. Should this happen, we will attempt to remove the threats within the amount of support time included in your plan. If the threat is extensive and will be time-consuming to remediate, we will work with you to come up with our next steps.

We help clients…

  • Identify any existing security concerns as part of the onboarding process and plan for remediation.
  • Procure and implement security solutions that proactively keep threats at bay.
  • Monitor for changes to best practices and put those practices into action.
  • Remediate any threats that slip through the cracks by working with Threat Remediation vendors directly on behalf of the client.

Websites are monitored 24/7 to ensure accessibility, which goes hand in hand with Included Support.

For example, if a client’s website becomes inaccessible to visitors, we will borrow from the included support time and work directly with the website hosting vendor to bring the website back online. The alternative to this would not only delay the issue being resolved, but it would also inconvenience the client.

Clients can also be alerted any time their website becomes inaccessible.

Alert options…

  • Email
  • Text Message
  • Twitter
  • Slack
  • Zapier
  • …more

SSL certificates are critical for maintaining website security and they should be considered a requirement for any website.

Any website that allows online payments (e.g. online stores), requires a valid SSL certificate to be installed. Also, without a valid certificate, Google will show a website as being non-secure, regardless of whether it allows online payments.

We help clients…

  • Procure the proper SSL certificate level.
  • Implement SSL certificates.
  • Maintain and validate SSL certificates.
  • Ensure all content is being served over a secure connection.

We are immersed in all things related to WordPress optimization, on a daily basis, whether it’s learning, doing, or a combination of both. With that knowledge, clients rest assured we’re squeezing the most performance out of their websites.

As an example, let’s say that we’ve had a discussion in one of our peer groups, where a big performance gain could be realized by doing “x”. This is something the client would not have found on their own and even if they did, chances are they would feel more comfortable having a website professional handle the task.

We help clients…

  • Determine the best solutions and settings for their environment.
  • Identify and implement changes, over time, to get more performance out of their solutions.

CDNs are potentially a huge win for website owners, especially for those that on website hosting with low bandwidth and disk space allowances. This is because CDNs reduce the need for users to request data directly from the server itself.

Depending on the CDN solution, there are additional benefits for website owners, such as multi-layer security, performance optimization elements, email address protection, country blocking and more.

We help clients…

  • Identify the best CDN solution for their environment.
  • Procure and connect the solution to their website.
  • Optimize the environment according to best practices.
  • Monitor for changes to best practices and put those best practices into action.

eCommerce websites are typically those that accept online payments in one form or another. These websites are inherently more complex, as they require greater security, robust backup/restore schemes, and have more moving parts.

  • Identify areas that need to be adjusted/enhanced to accommodate the eCommerce aspects of their website.
